We skipped school and hit the West MacDonnell Ranges with our niece and nephew, trading classrooms for red dirt tracks, swimming holes, glowing gorges, freezing mornings, and big hikes. From Ellery Creek and Standley Chasm to Mount Sonder and campfires under the stars, this outback adventure proved it was definitely better than school.
